Ladies Golf
On a very warm day 13 ladies played the Wednesday Stableford. Winner was Julie Newsome with 38 points from Shirley Bruce with 36 on a count back from Sue Rees. Julie also picked up the nearest the pin on the 4th.
Wednesday Mens
31 men played the Wednesday stableford with the winner Dennis Brown with 39 points. Matt Cave was second with 37 points on a countback from Bill Miller and Lindsay Purcell. Nearest the pins were the Pro Pin on the 7th Jimmy Adams, Al Collins on the 12th, Bill Miller the 14th and Scott Slade the 17th.
Veterans Golf
Tuesday saw 18 golfers travel to Armidale for the first round of the New England Veterans Pennants. Best performing Glen golfer was Rose Price with an excellent 42 points. Rose came 3rd overall out of a field of 134 players, great result Rose!
Other Glen golfers to perform well were John Matthewson with 39 points, Neil Zoldos 37 and Di Brown, Gordon Wollen, Peter Dunn and Dennis Brown all with 34 points. Glen golfers picked up 3 of the 5 nearest the pins with Robert Bruce, Di Brown and Greg Constantine all collecting a prize.
After the first round Glen Innes sits 3rd , one point behind Guyra with Armidale a clear first. 2nd round of the Pennants is at Walcha on Thursday 5 February.
Last Thursday was a stableford with the winner Max Burton with 53 from Richard GaHa on 52. Handicap winner was Joan Hutton with the great score of 40 points. Nearest the pins went to Rose Price on the 4th and Joan Hutton on the 12th. Super 6 winner was Roy Matthews and Peter Tough won the members draw.
Friday 9 Hole Competition
20 players played the back 9 Friday comp. Winner was Stuart Brummell with 24 points from Kim Hutton on 20. Chipping comp is now over $800! The Friday comp ends with daylight savings ending.
Saturday Golf
One of the biggest fields we have seen for a while on a Saturday saw 53 players play a medley stableford. Winner was Col Biddle with 40 points on a countback from Inverell golfer Damon Williams. Best of the ladies was Kim Hutton with 35 points and Bernie Miller with 33. The Pro Pin went to Dom Grob on the 17th and he also picked up the nearest the pin on the 7th. The 4th went to Tim Penn, 12th to Harrison Edmond and the 14th Morgan Reece both from Inverell.
Sunday Day
39 men played in the Sunday stableford. The winner was Craig Dawson with an impressive 41 points. Gary Cameron was second with 40 points on a countback from Jared Collins. All ladies now have the opportunity to compete in the NSW Medal rounds on the nominated Sunday and Wednesdays. The first round of this stroke event was on Sunday with some great scores. Julie Dunn set the pace with a great 65 from Shirley Bruce with a 67. Ladies that did not play on Sunday will have an opportunity to play on Wednesday. The Pro Pin winner was Pru Newby on the 4th, Terry Watters on the 7th, Gary Cameron on the 14th, Jimmy Adams the 14th and Ray Stone on the 17th.
Adopt a Hole
Volunteers have now covered 16 holes on the course, with no one on the 1st , 9th and 18th . If anyone is interested let Iain Smith know. All that is required is picking up a few sticks, whipper snipping and looking after the new trees. A big thanks to Charlie Kiehne for his work around the course spraying and as always, the hard-working John Matthewson who does a lot of work around the sheds and club house.

Cec Judge Jug Mens 4BBB is Sunday 6th February entry $50, includes lunch, Pro Pin and nearest the pins.
Ladies 2 Day Tournament sponsored by White Rock Wind Farm 24th and 25th February. There is a generous run down of prizes with registration $40 per person plus a seat in a cart required a further $20 per person.
