Glen Innes locals aren’t quite done with swimming season yet, with Council confirming an extension for the Glen Innes Aquatic Centre into April.
Instead of closing at the end of March, the pool will remain open until Sunday 19 April 2026, giving residents a few extra weeks to squeeze in a swim as the weather begins to cool.
To make the most of the autumn sunshine, opening hours will shift to the warmest part of the day, with the centre open daily from 11am to 4pm.
The extended season also covers part of the Easter break. The pool will be open on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, offering a perfect chance for families to cool off over the long weekend, before closing on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
While Glen Innes swimmers get a bonus run, the Emmaville Pool will wrap up its season as planned on Sunday 29 March.
Council says the extension is all about giving the community more opportunities to enjoy the facility, and with a few warm days still ahead, locals are encouraged to take advantage of the extra time.
For those not quite ready to pack away the towels, summer isn’t over just yet
