Red Range Public School wrapped up Term 2 on a high note with the celebration of its annual Wellbeing Week, a dedicated program aimed at nurturing students’ mental wellness, resilience, and personal development.

Held during the final week of term 2, Wellbeing Week offered a vibrant and thoughtfully planned timetable of activities that encouraged students to embody the school’s learner qualities: being Mindful, Self-Motivated, Brave, and Gritty.

Under the leadership of Relieving Principal Kelly Vimpany, the school community came together to prioritise student wellbeing through engaging and inclusive events, all of which were offered at no cost to families. This was made possible thanks to generous support from the school and its P&C.

Throughout the week, students participated in daily mindfulness and reflection sessions that supported emotional regulation and promoted a calm, focused start to each day. They engaged in group problem-solving challenges that encouraged critical thinking and teamwork. Students also took part in cooperative games designed to build trust, communication, and collaboration among peers. Special themed days throughout the week reinforced key values such as empathy, kindness, and community spirit, adding fun and meaning to the program.

Wellbeing at the Heart of Learning

Mrs Vimpany highlighted the importance of Wellbeing Week in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.

“These activities are not just fun—they help students develop the emotional tools and social skills they need both in and outside of the classroom,” she said. “It’s about creating a culture where wellbeing is embedded in everything we do.”

Wellbeing Week also supported the school’s broader goals of developing confident, connected learners who approach challenges with courage and persistence.
