A small crowd gathered near the Town Square for the first draw of Spend In Glen at Thursday nights late night shopping. With the  hum of local busker, Nathan Skinner, singing "Hallelujah" and the alluring aroma of sizzling snags, courtesy of Glen Innes Lionesses, 11 envelopes were drawn from the barrel by local identities including Bill and Moira Munro,  Sue Waters and the Mayor. The winners are now been contacted, picking up their cards loaded with cash to be spent at local participating  Glen Innes businesses.  The main prize for this draw went to Gail McIntyre.

Council Press Release Glen Innes Severn Council has endorsed a Mayoral Minute calling for simple, practical changes to the NSW planning system to speed up housing approvals and boost supply across the state. Council says two key bottlenecks are still holding up new homes, even after the passage of the Planning System Reforms Bill 2025 and the introduction of the 60-Day Deemed Approval Bill. The first is that basic, low-risk home builds still have to lodge a full Development Application (DA) and go through the same complex steps as a major commercial project. Glen Innes Severn Council has launched a new monthly initiative giving residents the chance to speak directly with Councillors and Council staff in a relaxed setting about issues affecting themselves and the wider community. The emphasis is intentionally informal, with the sessions—called Conversations with Councillors—held at the Highlands Hub once a month on a Thursday from 4pm to 6pm. Glen Innes Severn Council has finalised the purchase and exchanged contracts for the vacant building behind the McKenzie Mall in Glen Innes, locally known as the Dimmys building. The acquisition delivers a much needed and cost-effective response to critical safety, compliance and functional concerns that have affected the existing Council facilities for many years.
