The June 2025 weekend of the 27th and 28th will be remembered by all who attended as a weekend of celebration and 50 years of Elks rugby in Glen Innes. Australian rugby CEO Phil Waugh extended his congratulations to all who participated and commended the club on achieving the 50 year anniversary. Unite for Good is the call to action for the Rotary Club of Glen Innes which recently celebrated its 85th Birthday and 2025 Changeover Dinner at the Glen Innes and Districts Services Club. Glen Innes Rugby Union Club Celebrates 50 Years

The Glen Innes Elks Rugby Club will celebrate 50 years of continuous rugby since reforming in 1975. Whilst records show that rugby union was first played in Glen Innes in 1880 it has had a chequered start over the years with many starts, including combining with rugby league in 1931.
