FUNDING FLOWS IN FOR FIELD IMPROVEMENTS

Field maintenance at Glen Innes Rugby Park will soon be a lot easier with the Elks securing $108,000 in funding for an irrigation system. The funding was awarded to the club through the NSW Rugby World Cup Legacy program which is aimed at increasing inclusion and participation through improving infrastructure and facilities. ELKS SECURE FUNDING FOR SEATING UPGRADE

Spectators at the Glen Innes Elks home fixtures will now have somewhere to sit and enjoy the spectacle with Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan delivering funding for new seating. Mr Moylan secured $15,860 for the club to purchase grandstand seats through the Local Sport Grant Program. The Glen Innes Elks Rugby Club will celebrate 50 years of continuous rugby since reforming in 1975. Whilst records show that rugby union was first played in Glen Innes in 1880 it has had a chequered start over the years with many starts, including combining with rugby league in 1931.
