Repairs to the New England Highway are set to commence next week following extensive damage caused by increased traffic after recent flooding across New South Wales. The record-breaking floods that impacted the NSW coast last week forced the redirection of traffic to the New England Highway. Utility Collides with Cow on New England Highway

New England Police are investigating a collision between a utility vehicle and a cow on the New England Highway yesterday morning. Emergency services were called to the scene near Glencoe, south of Glen Innes, at approximately 6:30 am following reports that a utility had struck a cow. The driver, a 63-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics. The cow was euthanised at the site of the incident. Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing.

Police Seek Witnesses to Two-Vehicle Crash on New England Highway

New England Police are calling for witnesses following a two-vehicle collision on the New England Highway near Grafton Street, Glen Innes, yesterday morning. Emergency services responded to the incident at around 11 am, where they found a Toyota utility had overturned and landed on its roof after colliding with a Toyota SUV. The occupants of the ute, a 61-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, sustained minor cuts and were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to Armidale Hospital for further care. Solar Farm Consultations Held With Local Residents

Global solar business ib vogt has held the first round of community information sessions for the proposed solar farm north of Deepwater. Senior Development Manager, Terry Daly, led discussion about the project, outlining the scope and design as well as fielding questions from local residents. Sessions were held on Thursday 30th January at the Highlands Hub in Glen Innes and the Deepwater School of Arts Hall. The Deepwater session attracted more than 20 people.
