Fatal Crash on Shannon Vale Road

A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in the state’s New England region this morning. About 9.20am (Monday 18 August 2025), emergency services were called to Shannon Vale Road, Bald Nob – about 26km east of Glen Innes – following reports a vehicle had crashed. The male driver of the vehicle was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified. Officers attached to New England Police District established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the incident. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Utility Collides with Cow on New England Highway

New England Police are investigating a collision between a utility vehicle and a cow on the New England Highway yesterday morning. Emergency services were called to the scene near Glencoe, south of Glen Innes, at approximately 6:30 am following reports that a utility had struck a cow. The driver, a 63-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics. The cow was euthanised at the site of the incident. Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing.

Police Seek Witnesses to Two-Vehicle Crash on New England Highway

New England Police are calling for witnesses following a two-vehicle collision on the New England Highway near Grafton Street, Glen Innes, yesterday morning. Emergency services responded to the incident at around 11 am, where they found a Toyota utility had overturned and landed on its roof after colliding with a Toyota SUV. The occupants of the ute, a 61-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, sustained minor cuts and were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to Armidale Hospital for further care.
