New England Police are appealing for the public’s assistance to locate several people wanted on arrests warrants, as part of Operation Amarok. Shakel Harris, aged 24, is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, 170 to 175 cm tall, thin build, with brown hair and brown eyes. Harris is believed to frequent the Glen Innes, Emmaville, Coffs Harbour and Grafton areas. Phillip Wilkinson, aged 41, is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170 to 190 cm tall, medium build, with light brown hair and brown eyes. Utility Collides with Cow on New England Highway

New England Police are investigating a collision between a utility vehicle and a cow on the New England Highway yesterday morning. Emergency services were called to the scene near Glencoe, south of Glen Innes, at approximately 6:30 am following reports that a utility had struck a cow. The driver, a 63-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics. The cow was euthanised at the site of the incident. Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing.

Police Seek Witnesses to Two-Vehicle Crash on New England Highway

New England Police are calling for witnesses following a two-vehicle collision on the New England Highway near Grafton Street, Glen Innes, yesterday morning. Emergency services responded to the incident at around 11 am, where they found a Toyota utility had overturned and landed on its roof after colliding with a Toyota SUV. The occupants of the ute, a 61-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, sustained minor cuts and were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to Armidale Hospital for further care. On Thursday 6th March Glen Innes Severn Council held a roundtable meeting to discuss community concerns about crime and vandalism that has affected several local businesses over recent months and years. Police are appealing for assistance to locate a man missing from the state’s north-west. Jordie Zarro, aged 27, was last seen about 6pm on Wednesday (15 January 2025) at a licensed premises on Grey Street, Glen Innes. When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to New England Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.
