Market Report 14.01.25 897 Lambs and sheep yarded in today’s lamb and sheep sale. With large numbers yarded in surrounding areas, we saw the market drop this week. Heavy-Medium XB suckers Ranged from $142 and topped of at $207, store and forward store XB suckers from $60-$130. Well conditioned Dorper suckers ranged from $125-$169 and the lighter forward store Dorper suckers from $78-$120 Heavy last season XB lambs ranged from $130-$200 with the medium-light, well conditioned XB lambs from $90-$127. ANZAC Park Playground Set for Major Upgrade

Glen Innes Severn Council has announced significant progress in the upgrade of the ANZAC Park Playground, with an additional $600,000 in funding approved under Round 2 of the Australian Government’s Growing Regions Program. This funding complements the $500,000 secured in 2022 through the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund Round 5, alongside $100,000 committed by the Council, bringing the total project investment to $1.2 million. The existing playground at ANZAC Park is set for a much-needed transformation, addressing the increasing demand for modern, accessible, and inclusive recreational facilities. Racing NSW stewards conducted a track inspection early this morning and deemed the surface unsuitable for racing after rainfall over the last 24 hours. Wednesday January 1st Medley Stableford: A great field of 56 players competed in the Stableford event on Wednesday. Winner was Terry Watters with 40 points from Jason Duffell with 38. Best placed lady golfer was Kim Hutton with 35 points. Thursday January 2nd:  19 players.  Winner was Rod Kiehne with 37 points from Peter Tough 35 points on a count back from Dennis Brown and Kim Hutton.  Prior to Christmas12 veterans battled out the overall monthly medal title.  Winner was Craig Hulls with 68 in the stroke event from playing partner Ian Swanston with a 70 then 3rd Dougy Stevenson…

Friday’s storm The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has been forecasting  it for days, the hope of a few mm here a few mm there … but little showers have skirted by Glen without anything to show. It came down this Friday afternoon as a thick band of dark, menacing cloud  came in from the west.  At its height, ferocious winds, torrential rain and horizontal hail.
