Glen Innes VIEW Club is hosting a very special fundraiser on International Women’s Day, Saturday 8th March at the Glen Innes Services Club

VIEW (Voice, Interests and Education of Women) Clubs of Australia are clubs for women of all ages and from all walks of life. VIEW Clubs fundraise for The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program. This impactful program supports the education of disadvantaged Australian children and young people, driving social change for them and their families. Last year Glen Innes’s VIEW Club raised more than $10,000 for the program.

For those not familiar with this charity, Glen Innes VIEW meets each month at the Services Club for a short meeting and a ‘very social lunch’ according to President Kerrie Sturtridge, who says that the best thing in addition to helping kids education is ‘the friendship and the guest speakers who always teach us something new, things that you just don’t know’. To join the club costs $40 and then the annual subscription is just $20 each year.

This year VIEW Clubs are celebrating their 65th Sapphire Anniversary, and Glen Innes VIEW (which has been fundraising for almost that many years) is celebrating too.

The theme of the anniversary event  is ‘Accelerate Action’ and it will be held at the Glen Innes Services Club on 8th March. There will be quite a line up of activities, beginning at 10:00 am with morning tea meet and greet,  followed by a keynote address at 10:30am.  The Guest Speaker is The Hon. Nichole Overall, Member of the NSW Legislative Council, the first female Member for Monaro in 160 years and also a social historian and author. Her talk will be followed by one of those ‘very social’ lunches, plus raffles, a Trading Table, a Lucky Door Prize, and entertainment by local favourites, the Skinner Boyz.

The cost for all this is $35.00pp. Kerrie needs to finalise numbers for the lunch by Tuesday 4th March, so please contact her ASAP on 0429 323 416 if you are able to join in.
