Glen Innes Severn Council is continuing to closely monitor water levels at Beardy Weir as dry conditions persist across the region, with current Level 2 water restrictions remaining in place for Glen Innes under Council’s Drought Management Plan. Beardy Weir is Glen Innes’ main water source, and inspections earlier this year confirmed water levels had reached the trigger point for Level 2 restrictions, prompting Council to act early to manage water use responsibly. Spectators at the Glen Innes Elks home fixtures will now have somewhere to sit and enjoy the spectacle with Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan delivering funding for new seating. Mr Moylan secured $15,860 for the club to purchase grandstand seats through the Local Sport Grant Program. The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) has released data outlining community participation in the recent Special Rate Variation (SRV) process across New South Wales. The 3-week consultation period opened on 17 February and closed on 9 March 2026.  In total, ten local government areas submitted applications to IPART seeking approval for a Special Rate Variation.
