A local producer has wryly observed while droving cattle along public roads, “it’s raining cans, bongs and thongs.” While roadside litter is an ongoing concern, it also provides an opportunity for positive community action. Collecting eligible bottles and cans not only helps clean up our environment but also allows residents to support GLENRAC through the Return & Earn program. Donations contribute directly to local initiatives such as Smoko with Friends and Bush Kids First Aid. GLENRAC welcomes funding for Innovative Farming Forecaster Project

GLENRAC Inc has welcomed the recent announcement of more than $1.7 million in funding for Landcare programs across the Northern Tablelands under the NSW Government’s Landcare Enabling Program. As part of this investment, the New England Landcare Network has secured $830,899 to deliver its regional project, “Towards informed, integrative land and water management,” with GLENRAC playing a key role in project delivery. 2025 Voluntary community organisation – Glenrac Inc The Glen Innes Natural Resources Advisory Committee Inc has celebrated 36 years of operation in our shire, working with landholders and other community groups, and local, state, and federal agencies to “originally tackle land degradation issues of Eucalypt dieback and erosion. Deepwater celebrates community and volunteer groups Around one hundred people attended Deepwater’s first Community & Volunteer Expo on Saturday May 10, with Deepwater Hall chair Mary Hollingworth declaring the event “a stellar success”. The local Australia Day festivities begin this year with a free breakfast being served at Pinkett Hall from 8am, followed by free morning tea at Glen Innes & District Services Club in Glen Innes from 10:30am.
