A Musical Afternoon at Rosecroft

On Sunday afternoon, 30th March, the New England Conservatorium of Music [NECOM] presented the first of three musical afternoons which form its Heritage Homestead Series 2025. Held in the old stables at Rosecroft, the home of Mike and Belinda Norton, the Homestead Series celebrates the architectural heritage of the Glen Innes district with concerts that feature musicians from the Conservatorium in Armidale. The musicians performing at Rosecroft were Hester Wright, soprano, Joanna Fairs-Wu, violin, Robert Manley, violoncello, and Matthew Ardern, harpsichord and pianoforte. The Historical Society is anxious to collect the history of our second wave of pioneers, the Soldier Settlers - from subdivision maps, correspondence, documents, photos, reminiscences, ledgers… We have some information about Soldier Settlement on Waterloo, Rangers Valley, Kings Plains and Deepwater.
