The United Hospital Auxiliaries of NSW was established in 1933 to support hospitals and other health care centres to enhance the welfare of patients and staff. Today, the organisation has more than 167 branches across the state, with funds raised in each community staying within that community to support local health services. On 6 December, the Glen Innes Branch of United Hospital Auxiliaries held its annual Christmas Stall, which proved to be one of its most successful fundraisers to date. This month's After Dark movie is to be screened on 18 December, the third Thursday of December, commencing at  6.30pm at the Glen Innes Severn Public and TAFE Library. The movie stars Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis in a comedy film of a couple trying to skip Christmas for a cruise, but end up scrambling to recreate the holiday when their daughter unexpectedly comes home. Since 2022, The Glen Innes Highlands Lioness-Lions Club have coordinated ‘Hellies Christmas Drive’ – named in honour of a well-loved and valued community member, Hellen Jennings. For 15 years Helen had coordinated a similar drive for under privileged children in the Glen Innes area. The proceeds from this drive were always and will continue to be dispersed through the office of Glen Innes Youth and Family Support Service. Jenny and Robert Thomas were named 2025 Citizens of the Year for their tireless volunteer work. Competing in the Southern Cross Feeds EA Australasian Show Horse and Rider Championships Lali brought home the Intermediate rider 12,13,14 years Champion representing NSW and  riding Kolbeach Cowboy, owned by Lali. A small crowd gathered near the Town Square for the first draw of Spend In Glen at Thursday nights late night shopping. With the  hum of local busker, Nathan Skinner, singing "Hallelujah" and the alluring aroma of sizzling snags, courtesy of Glen Innes Lionesses, 11 envelopes were drawn from the barrel by local identities including Bill and Moira Munro,  Sue Waters and the Mayor. The winners are now been contacted, picking up their cards loaded with cash to be spent at local participating  Glen Innes businesses.  The main prize for this draw went to Gail McIntyre.
