After an application and interviewing process with the Scholarship Project Committee the club is very happy to announce that three students have been awarded our Post Secondary Scholarship for 2025. In 2025 the club received applications from three worthy students whom we are pleased to assist in their future studies. Chelsea McIntyre, Phoebe Vimpany and Rory Husband joined the club at the December meeting when the students informed all the members of their plans and dreams of their futures. Our Community Continues to WOW!!

Since 2022, The Glen Innes Highlands Lioness-Lions Club have coordinated ‘Hellies Christmas Drive’ – named in honour of a well-loved and valued community member, Hellen Jennings. For 15 years Helen had coordinated a similar drive for under privileged children in the Glen Innes area. The proceeds from this drive were always and will continue to be dispersed through the office of Glen Innes Youth and Family Support Service. Club Awards Inaugural Scholarship

The Glen Innes Highlands Lioness Lions Club has awarded its first-ever Post-Secondary Education Scholarship, valued at over $2,000, to Lottie Marr-Spillman. Lottie, who will be undertaking university studies in Education at Charles Sturt University’s Port Macquarie campus, was selected as the inaugural recipient of the scholarship. The club has long been dedicated to supporting young people in the local community. In 2023, members were able to assist a student transitioning to university, which became the catalyst for establishing the scholarship fund as an ongoing annual project. Lions Youth Of The Year

Glen Innes Highlands Lioness Lions Club again hosted the Youth of the Year Public Speaking Competition. Students from Glen Innes High School submitted applications, similar in nature to applying for a job, and were then selected to proceed onto the Glen Innes final. A panel of judges conducted a 40 minute interview where the student’s general knowledge was tested by responding to matters associated with inspiring and empowering young people, addressing challenges such as youth crime and disengagement and adapting to create new opportunities for young people. Another Successful Year for Hellie’s Toy Drive

Members of the Glen Innes Highlands Lioness Lions Club have again been busy bringing joy to the lives of disadvantaged Glen Innes families. Coordinator, Lion Leonie Lee, organised collection boxes for donations of new toys and books. These were left at key points around Glen Innes, including Glen Innes West Infants School, Glen Innes Public School, Glen Innes High School, Carrells Toy Store and Services NSW.
