Deepwater Black Tie Ball To Raise Funds For Tennis Club

Deepwater Black Tie Ball To Raise Funds For Tennis Club

The Deepwater Tennis Club is holding a fundraising ball at the end of November, with proceeds going towards equipment and renovations at the club. Club president Chris McIntosh said there had not been a similar event in Deepwater for some time and the “Tennis Ball” would be a great opportunity for locals to get dressed up and have a fun night out, while supporting their local community. “Our club is really active, especially considering the size of the town, and our new committee is looking for ways to ensure our club continues to thrive. Review: A Contemporary Encounter with “Fairytales”

On the late afternoon of November 9, 2024, the Chapel Theatre in Glen Innes was graced with a unique and immersive experience, courtesy of internationally celebrated piano soloist, Alex Raineri. The Glen Innes concert concluded Alex’s tour of Northeastern New South Wales with a performance that was anything but conventional. Organised by Music in the Regions in conjunction with the Glen Innes Arts Council, this was the town’s first concert under this initiative, and it set a striking precedent for future events. Raineri’s program, aptly titled Fairytales, was a curated journey through contemporary classical piano works by five eminent Australian…

Red Cross Christmas Tree Display To Delight Again This Year

The Australian Red Cross Christmas tree display is twenty-three years old this year and over all the years has been delighting Glen Innes residents and visitors alike.  I asked Margaret Kiehne, President of the Glen Innes Red Cross branch, where the idea originally came from.  She said it was filched from the Muswellbrook branch, and while their event didn’t make the distance, the Glen Innes iteration has kept going from strength to strength. The display already has twenty-five entrants and organisers hope to exceed last year’s total of sixty-two.  There is no fee to enter, and schools, businesses and individuals…

The machine is designed to be used by anyone, even those without medical training, making it an invaluable tool in emergencies.
