PUBLIC SCHOOL CHOIRS HIT ALL THE RIGHT NOTES

The Glen Innes Public School’s senior choir and small choral group both brought home First Place trophies from the annual Tenterfield Eisteddfod in the first week of September. The eisteddfod was held in the Tenterfield School of Arts Theatre under the watchful eyes, and ears, of London-trained adjudicator, Melissa Buchholz. Ms Buchholz teaches woodwind, piano, double bass and singing, and her students have won countless awards and scholarships (and toured and performed) all over Europe. On Wednesday 26th March, the Glen Innes Public School AFL team competed in the Paul Kelly Cup in Inverell against teams from Inverell Public School and Newling Public School. In the first game, our boys came out with determination, winning against an Inverell Public team 5.4.34 to 0.0.0! Local Area Land Councils [LALC] are part of the network of the NSW Aboriginal Land Council. Its purpose is to acquire land through claim or purchase, establish commercial enterprises to support a sustainable economic base for Aboriginal communities and to maintain and enhance Aboriginal culture and heritage.
