Glen Innes Public School Players Excel at Paul Kelly Cup

On Wednesday 26th March, the Glen Innes Public School AFL team competed in the Paul Kelly Cup in Inverell against teams from Inverell Public School and Newling Public School. In the first game, our boys came out with determination, winning against an Inverell Public team 5.4.34 to 0.0.0! St Joseph’s Students Shine at Primary Winter Trials

The Armidale Catholic Schools Primary Winter Trials were held in Armidale on Friday 28th March.  St Joseph’s Primary School had a number of students representing the school in Rugby League, Soccer and Netball.  All students played well in the wet conditions and enjoyed the day. A big congratulations to Sam Barratt and Jimmy Chard for being selected into the Diocesan team for Rugby League.  They will attend the Polding trials in Bathurst on 2nd May 25.

The Glen Innes Jockey Club has announced that the Glen Innes Cup Race Day, traditionally held in January, has been rescheduled to Saturday, 10 May 2025. This year's event was postponed due to unsuitable track conditions following heavy rainfall. No golf on Wednesday last week due to the wet weather and the course being closed. Veterans Golf A good field of 25 players competed for the Monthly Medal which is a stroke event.  Winner was Glen Fairclough with a 72 from Robert Bruce with a 74.  Nearest the pins were Glen Fairclough on the 4th and the Pro Pin on the 12th went to Peter Tough.  Putting went to Farley Sherrott with 28 putts. A very big week of golf to report on! Ladies Competition Glen Innes Ladies ran their annual two day golf competition, sponsored by White Rock Wind Farm. Three talented players from local rugby team the Glen Innes Elks represented the Pacific Nomads at the Crescent Head 7s over the weekend.
