Young people with an interest in cattle handling and the beef industry are invited to take part in the National Red Poll Youth Camp, which will be held at the Glen Innes Showgrounds from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 October 2025. Three Local Projects Share in Community Grant Funding

Three community projects in the Glen Innes Severn area have been awarded funding in the latest round of the New South Wales Government’s Community Building Partnership program. Administered by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, the program supports community infrastructure projects that deliver positive social, environmental and recreational benefits, while encouraging participation, inclusion and cohesion. On 16 July 2025, more than 35 people joined Father Thaddeus Osita Ike of St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Glen Innes to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of his ordination as a priest, held at a lunch at the Railway Tavern. He has spent more than half his time as a priest in Australia. A man has died in a two-vehicle crash on the Gwydir Highway near Glen Innes.. About 12.30pm today (Saturday 9 August 2025), emergency services were called to the Gwydir Highway, Swan Vale, about 30km west of Glen Innes, following reports of a crash. While drought conditions have worsened across parts of southern and western New South Wales, producers in the Northern Tablelands are continuing to benefit from strong seasonal conditions and a positive production outlook.
